The Sacred Heart invites us today to face a reality we cannot ignore: the Christian life is a spiritual battle. We are not purely spiritual beings—we are human, weak, and susceptible to temptation. As the transcript reminds us, the enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking to draw us away from God . Yet this truth is not meant to discourage us, but to awaken vigilance and reliance on grace. The Heart of Jesus is not only a place of love—it is also a fortress of protection. When we remain united to Him, we are sheltered from the assaults of the enemy. The path forward is not to rely on our own strength, but to remain anchored in divine love. We are called to flee occasions of sin, to seek refuge in the Sacred Heart, and to entrust ourselves to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, whose Immaculate Heart crushes evil. Spiritual combat requires discipline: prayer, sacrifice, and perseverance. It requires the humility to recognize our weakness and the courage to depend entirely on Christ. The battle is real, but so is the victory. When we allow Jesus to be our defender—our “Lion of Judah”—we are no longer vulnerable in the same way. Today is an invitation to fight, not with fear, but with confidence, knowing that we do not stand alone. United to the Sacred Heart, we are protected, strengthened, and led toward victory. This is the path of those who desire to live truly Set Apart for Him.
