Joseph’s marriage to Mary is a masterpiece of God’s design: love that is real, faithful, and pure. Joseph honors Mary’s unique vocation and receives his own vocation through relationship—not possession. This is spousal love as reverence. Today helps heal modern distortions of love: using instead of serving, taking instead of giving, lust instead of tenderness. Joseph’s spousal heart is protective and self-sacrificing. He doesn’t compete with Mary; he supports her mission. He doesn’t demand; he provides. Ask what your relationships are becoming. Are they making you more holy—more truthful, patient, and self-controlled—or more self-centered? Joseph’s example is especially powerful for husbands and fathers, but his spousal virtue blesses everyone: it teaches how to honor, listen, and love without grasping. Today, pray for marriages and families. Pray for wounded love to be purified. And ask Joseph to teach the Church how to protect the dignity of women and the sanctity of marriage.
