The Child Jesus was hunted by a violent king, and Joseph became the frontline defender of the Savior. Zeal is love that acts. Joseph doesn’t protect Christ with slogans; he protects Him with decisions, sacrifice, and swift obedience. Today reminds us: Christ is still attacked—through indifference, scandal, ridicule, and spiritual warfare. To be Joseph-like is to become a defender of Jesus in your own life and in the lives of others. That defense begins internally: guarding prayer, refusing sin, rejecting lies, and standing firm in truth. Ask yourself: Where am I passive? Zeal means refusing spiritual laziness. Joseph teaches the courage to do the hard thing: flee when necessary, speak when necessary, and persevere when exhausted. Today, practice “defense” concretely: protect time for God, defend the dignity of someone vulnerable, correct a harmful habit, or strengthen your family’s faith. You are not meant to watch the battle from a distance. With Joseph, you can fight the right way—quietly, faithfully, and with love.
