The Gift of Total Consecration

De Montfort calls total consecration to Mary a complete gift of ourselves — body, soul, possessions, good works, and prayers — offered entirely to Jesus through her. This act is a renewal of our baptismal promises, a voluntary surrender of everything we are so that we may live only for Christ.
At first, such a total offering may seem difficult, but De Montfort teaches that in giving ourselves completely, we actually gain freedom. Nothing belongs to us anymore — all is in Mary’s hands, and she directs it perfectly toward God’s glory.
Through this consecration, every moment, every prayer, and even our suffering become fruitful, for Mary offers them in union with Jesus. This total self-giving transforms ordinary life into a constant act of love.
To consecrate ourselves is to say, “Mary, I am all yours — and all that I have is yours — to be used for Jesus.”
