She stands with you at all times
Today’s reflection draws us into the heart of Mary’s suffering and presence — especially at Calvary and in the Eucharist. Fr. Gaitley invites us to consider Mary at the foot of the Cross, where her role as our spiritual mother was fully revealed. She stood in silence, united in suffering with her Son, offering Him to the Father while offering herself in complete love and surrender. This wasn’t just a historical moment — it was a spiritual reality that continues today.
Mary’s “retreat” did not end at Calvary. As the Spouse of the Holy Spirit, she is mystically present at every Mass. Just as she was at the Cross, she is spiritually near us as we receive the Eucharist — drawing us into deeper union with Jesus. Fr. Gaitley emphasizes that Mary doesn’t distract us from Christ; she leads us directly to Him, especially in the Eucharist, where His sacrifice is made present again.
What’s most powerful is Mary’s personal love. She is not a distant figure — she is uniquely, particularly, personally your mother. She knows your wounds, your fears, and your hunger for God. And just as she led the beloved disciple to the Cross, she leads you to Jesus in the Eucharist — to the place where mercy and love pour out.
Today, reflect on Mary’s constant, motherly presence in your life. At every Mass, she is there — helping you love Jesus more and receive Him more deeply into your heart.
