Let Mary lead you into deeper faith
In this reflection, Fr. Gaitley helps us understand why St. Maximilian Kolbe admired Mary so deeply: because she always does the will of God, perfectly and joyfully. Unlike us, who hesitate or struggle with selfishness, Mary’s every thought, desire, and action flows in complete harmony with God’s plan. This is not because she is divine, but because she is perfectly united to the Holy Spirit and completely open to His love.
Kolbe saw Mary’s perfection not as a distant ideal, but as a living reality meant to inspire and assist us. Her obedience wasn’t rigid or cold — it was loving, free, and full of peace. She teaches us how to give ourselves to God without fear, knowing that His will is always good.
Fr. Gaitley emphasizes that when we consecrate ourselves to Mary, we allow her to help us live this same kind of joyful surrender. Mary doesn’t force us to be holy; she gently forms us, like a mother guiding her child. She strengthens our will, sharpens our discernment, and deepens our trust.
When we entrust our lives to her, we begin to reflect her docility and courage. We stop clinging to control and start trusting God more freely. Today’s message is clear: let Mary lead you into deeper faith by imitating her perfect “yes” — not just once, but every day, in every moment. Her way is the surest path to Jesus.
